Dear handwritten typography,

Please accept my sincerest apologies for neglecting you. You deserve as much credit as those fancy pants, tightly kerned, uppercase, sans serifs aganist solid backgrounds or reversed out in white on desaturated photographs. Let’s be friends.

xoxo,

stamps

As much as I enjoy Disney stamp designs (sarcasm) I really wish stamps looked more like these. Much more inspiring.

pelicanbooks

It’s fascinating to see the evolution of design on Pelican Books over the years. The early years (30s) consistented of the three bands, then the 50s grid systems and our personal favs (above), the illustrated covers in the 60s. </reading><drooling>

superheadz

The newest addition to my toy camera collection. Superheadz Golden Half. Takes 2 frames on one 4×6. And looks like Superheadz has some other interesting cameras as well, if you can maneuver their mostly in Japanese web site. Here is a snapshot from a recent visit to Santa Cruz. Does this give anyone else an urge to watch “The Lost Boys” again?

LOVE this photo. So why don’t I marry it? It won’t be acknowledged in about 41 states. And plus, marrying expired film just screams desperation.

At first I watched the video, but then found the photography stills to be much more fascinating. I mean, c’mon, its rolling and unraveling, yada yada yada. Only to find out it was advertising for Ray Ban’s Never Hide campaign. Buzzkill. Can’t a girl enjoy a ridiculously large ball of yarn that looks both ways while crossing the street, has kittens stuck in it, gets stopped by the fuzz and rides the Muni without being sold eyewear?
