Listen up, kids. This man/designer (now bald) sacrified the hair on his head for typography and to send you a New Year’s greeting, so he’s a-okay in my book. But for the record, a Snoopy Snow Cone machine would of sufficed as well.
I’m not sure if you’re prepared for the awesomeness you’re about witness. But first, a little background on the Hektor and its purpose. Engineer Uli Franke created a spray-paint device that hooks up to a laptop and uses a software based on Scriptographer to output artwork. “The aim was to make a statement about design by providing a new tool to other designers and artists to experiment with, a tool with an inherently particular and distinctive aesthetic.” This device is nothing less than a stroke of genius. A Nice Idea Everyday (side note: great name, isn’t it?) consists of Vivien Weyrauch and Fabian Rottger. Based out of Dortmund, Germany, this dynamic duo experiment with visual styles. Their work is playful and progressive. I particularly like their set of flying things and only wish they had added a llama in mid air or perhaps a table. via Form Fifty Five
Product designer, Hafsteinn Juliusson describes his amazing jewelry line best. “Growing Jewelry is a redefinition of modern values. Among the endless uses of pvc pipes that don’t include plumbing, Lee Stokes has a brilliant idea as well. Pipe Font! This was created as a positive message for communities in Britain who were victims of flooding.
I am always enthralled by the experimental work of Apirat Infahsaeng, also known as SyntheticAutomatic. He never ceases to amaze me. Above is a logo for the visual artist collective Command+N.
