Besides the harmonica, the glass harp is an instrument that I’ve always wanted to learn to play. Not really. But, Lernert Engelberts and Sanders Plug do. And did quite well. Watch them work those glasses to a rendition of the horrendous pop song “No limit” by 2unlimited. But if there is one thing to be learned from this project, its the words of the creators themselves “Commit and dedicate yourself to even the most stupid ideas that come to mind.”
I’m not sure if you’re prepared for the awesomeness you’re about witness. But first, a little background on the Hektor and its purpose. Engineer Uli Franke created a spray-paint device that hooks up to a laptop and uses a software based on Scriptographer to output artwork. “The aim was to make a statement about design by providing a new tool to other designers and artists to experiment with, a tool with an inherently particular and distinctive aesthetic.” This device is nothing less than a stroke of genius. Okay, now you’re prepared. Watch!
You may be thinking, Royksopp is so old school Miss Apples and Owls. Even the Geico lizard is up on them already. Yes, this is true. However, a recent discovery of their video and their use of infographics for the video has altered my world. I’m in the datasphere and I can’t get out. (nor do I want to.)
I can’t sleep. So I’ve tried reading which usually always makes me tired, but now I’m up-to-date with The New Yorker and IDN Magazine. I’d try drinking warm milk, but unless it soy, I’ll still be up if you know what I mean. So now I’m on to YouTube-ing ridiculous videos. Try this one out too.
Passion Pit update folks. I just came across their video of the song “Sleepyhead” and while the first minute is pretty much the only part worth watching, it is a damn good 60 seconds. Definitely an interesting idea.
“I believe global warming is just God hugging us closer.” Best SNL skit in a long while. And by the way, anyone else baffled by the striking resemblance between Sarah Palin and Tina Fey?
