Last weekend in New York, the much anticipated redesign of the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) was opened to the public. The new location is 2 Columbus Circle and not only was the architecture revamped, so was their identity. And I have to say, while there is an abundance of aesthetically pleasing, trendy design these days, its refreshing to see an identity that is progressive, conceptual and comprehensive. Michael Bierut and Joe Marianek of Pentagram were the brainchilds of their new look. See more here.

A Nice Idea Everyday (side note: great name, isn’t it?) consists of Vivien Weyrauch and Fabian Rottger. Based out of Dortmund, Germany, this dynamic duo experiment with visual styles. Their work is playful and progressive. I particularly like their set of flying things and only wish they had added a llama in mid air or perhaps a table. via Form Fifty Five

April Fools came late for me this year. This past weekend, I went to one of my favorite bakeries in the bay area, La Farine to start my morning off right, with a pain au chocolat and a darjeeling tea. I go to sip my tea and nothing. At this point, my mouth is full of flaky bread and chocolate, I could really benefit from a sip of tea, only to see that my lid is missing its most crucial part. The mouth hole. Out of all the lids available (approximately 3 stacks full) I pick the bunk one. What is a paper cup lid with no mouth opening? Anyhow, I took of a photo of this spectacular lid for all to see.

Side effects of this video include: getting dancey, repeating song lyrics, wanting to play with typography and a desire to wear knee high socks. Definitely worth watching.
