Out of all the craft booths I came across at the Maker Fair, My Imaginary Boyfriend’s was my absolute favorite. Why you ask?
1. Handmade silkscreened log pillows and log pin cushions
2. Brown bag beer cozies made of felt that come in two sizes: bottle & can
3. Quality materials.
4. A very sweet, non-aggressive owner/log connoisseur, Erika Kern
5. Even her “Mastercard/Visa Accepted” sign was hand-stitched out of felt.
1-5 = motherfucking win.
Check out her goods here.

Does the name Lisa Congdon ring a bell? Well, shame on you. She’s all sorts of awesome. Self taught artist, co-owner of Rare Device in San Francisco and believer of truth telling, her story is definitely worth reading here. Above is one of her works, which is bit of a departure from her other artworks, but lovely nonetheless.
On a completely unrelated note: I can’t help but share this post from Texts From Last Night that involved a pinecone. Enjoy. Or think I’m insane. I can accept that.
(919): I was just driving stoned and I stopped to let a pinecone cross the road because I thought it was a hedgehog.

Oh! Look what we have here. An autostereogram. In layman’s terms, the idea behind those Magic Eye posters where you’re supposed to be able to see a 3D image from a 2D pattern. Most frustrating posters ever. I nearly went into a seizure once trying to see a fucking dragon (which I never saw). Nevertheless, the neat folks at Threefold on Etsy have created “Hello” postcards that are much kinder on the eyes.

Lovely customizable mini paintings on wood rounds. How dandy is that? I agree. Visit Paperbullet on Etsy and support your local independent artists.

While I’m in the midst of packing and cleaning out my apartment, (basically throwing out heaps of rubbish) it has me thinking about the amount of things we consume daily, monthly, yearly. Well Kateconsumption is thinking that too. And illustrating those items. Check out her What Did You Buy Today Zine on Etsy.

Scion sponsored a competition recently called Craft My Ride, a car accessory design competition. The results are in and this lovely piece placed 3rd, made by Lisa Przybylski of Peculiar Creations. And if you’re wondering what his name is, he’s Artie, the steering wheel buddie. Check out the other winners as well.
