Apples & Owls does not promote cigarette smoking….but with packaging as good as this, we can make exceptions. On second thought, I highly recommend Cigarette Juice instead. Anyhow, ASYL is responsible for art direction of these which not only make it easier to distinguish flavors, but instead of a flip top opening, they slide out from the slide. Skillionaire!
We heart The Curiosity Shoppe. (Yeah, me and about 60% of the female population in SF. And maybe 25% of males) They have a new exhibit up by Treatzone, another gem of San Francisco. I visited during their opening and yes, there was candy corn and Tecate. MmMmmmmm. And lovely ghosts painted on postcards.
I stumbled upon Ryan Boyle’s exhibit on my way to see some works by Charley Harper and was pleasantly surprised. Quirky and playful, his sculptures are actually made primarily of paper. (!) Can’t wait to see more of his work.
The London 2012 Olympic pictograms were unveiled this week, representing each of the sports and disciplines. SomeOne in London decided to design a silhouette version and a new ‘dynamic’ line drawing version, used especially for outdoor. What do you guys feel about this new look?
Hey Los Angelenos/typography dorks, get inspired here. Andrew Byrom + Ed Fella + Sunook Park = MAJOR collabo. Apples & Owls says GO!
White Gold is back and ridiculous/bad ass/sexy than ever. Who wouldn’t dig his ’stache? This on-going campaign for California Milk by Goodby Silverstein & Partners didn’t stop at unicorns and gold onesies. Milkquarious is a must see.
Glug-glug-glug. Sounds and looks good to me.

Jesus Begeeezus, this video is rad. I would totally hang out with him and would have put him on my Top 8 when Myspace was accepted.
Masamichi Katayama is the divine genius behind many of the most innovative retails spaces that exist. It comes as no surprise that his web site exudes the same brillance.
