I’m impressed by how progressive guerilla/public installations have become these days. I always have fancied the knitted tree branch cozies from artist Carol Hummel and paste-ups are classic, but guerilla gardening by Eric Cheung and Sean Martindale looks to be the diamond in the dark. They take existing wheatpasted billboards and create folded pockets that are used as pots for plants. This is too good not to reblog.

We here at Apples & Owls raved about MGMT in 2008 but that was 512 days ago, to be exact. Richard Carey’s vinyl packaging redesign for MGMT = thumbs up. MGMT circa 2009 = thumbs down.

Currently adoring the work of Robin Cameron. In particular, her playfulness in color and collages. Take a gander at her web site, rocamm (not to be mistaken for a rom com.)

These photos don’t serve Atelier OMOYA’s water logo installation justice, so click here to view the video. I’d also like to note that this logo makes me want to go visit some waterslides. Otter pop in hand. Thanks for listening.

Just a reminder that your should never forgranted the work of David Shrigley. Brilliance exhibited in sharply sarcastic illustrations. So good.

These delightful beer sweaters from the 70s and 80s were rescued by AJ Fosik, probably from your dad’s basement. I’ve already thought of different ways to style these with my wardrobe but unfortunately they’re not for sale. (sad face with single tear)

On foggy days I tend to drink Chai tea while afternoons are for Earl Grey with a dash of milk. Sara Lai’s got a new flavor, Lomo tea. Snapshots taken from her travels and put into handsewn tea bags, the only seeping done will be in memories. Cute idea though.

I get it. We, designers, live by the Pantone Matching System. I love it too. PMS 812U, double hit of ink? I can’t resist it. PMS 428U? A classic. And while I try to avoid posting anything Pantone, we all have our soft spot. This is mine. BarberOsgerby takes the collection fo 48 Pantone colors used for architecture and interiors and produced them into stools.
