Daily Monster 100

Designer and Illustrator Stefan G. Bucher of 344 Design loves monsters. So much, that he videotaped himself turning an inkblot into a monster everyday for 100 days. And he’s not the only one who loves it. There has becoming a sort of cult following from around the globe that anxiously awaits a new monster daily. He has turned his love for monsters into a book that will be released in 6 days from now called, 100 Days of Monster, that showcases all his lovely creations. Until then, you can visit here and watch some fun videos of the creation of little blobby monsters.

Charles & Marie: Tea Code

Most clever product I’ve seen in awhile. Attach the tea bag to the silicone button on the side. Oh, and that’s not all. The cup has two layers that allow the heat to dissipate a lot better than on a single walled cup, eliminating the need for a handle. What more can I say than I really fancy this cup. Want one?

Audrey Kawasaki - Lydia

Audrey Kawasaki - Kotori

One of my favorite contemporary artists is Audrey Kawasaki. Her paintings are ethereal and dark, erotic and innocent and always astonishing. There is a sense of melancholy in her work that I admire. I could go on and on, but you should see it for yourself. Well, its your lucky day because she has a solo show right now in the Copro Nason Gallery, located in Santa Monica, California. Show runs into March 1st, so check it out.

Owl Tray ElsewaresSquirrel Tray Elsewares

You knew the day would come when I’d have to post owl paraphernalia. But when I do, its always worth it. Such as these beautiful trays from a great web site that supports independent art and design, Elsewares. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing, but they were made using an old technique which applies high pressure laminate to an environmentally friendly, recycled wood core. Lovely and sustainable.

Made in Bunch_2

Made in Bunch_3

When it came time to revamp their identity, Bunch took a different approach to it. As designers, they find themselves being inspired by the world around them, including how others see their brand so they put themselves out there by asking other creatives to take their logo and design it based on how they view Bunch. (in other terms, bastardize it! and it was quite enjoyable) They posted the submissions to their web site and applied them to their stationary and much more. Its amazing to see how everyone interprets their brand. Enjoy!

It’s that time again!

Cadbury Mini Eggs

I rarely say this, but OMGHOORAY. I walked into my local 7-11, and to my joy, Cadbury Mini Eggs were sitting right there on the counter. It made my day. Why? Because these delicious little treats are just the beginning to other great Easter candies. So stop pretending to still be sticking to that New Year’s resolution of watching your calories, because the best candy of the year is back. Also available in dark chocolate as well.
